Sealless pumps are self-contained. The pumped product or liquid is completely enclosed within the body of the pump. The containment shell provides a complete mechanical barrier, preventing leaks and emissions. There is no reliance on external systems or other methods of prevention.

Competitive alternatives often require ancillary systems – which also have potential for leakage, spillage and cross contamination. Some ancillary systems require that any recovered liquid be burnt or flared off, which in itself incurs further restrictions.
