Centrifugal pumps are defined by the Hydraulic Institute as “a kinetic machine converting mechanical energy into hydraulic energy through centrifugal activity.” Sundyne Pumps are further classified as an overhung impeller design where the impeller is mounted on the end of a shaft that is cantilevered or "overhung" from its bearing supports.
The advantages of centrifugal pumps include simplicity of design, pulsation free flow, compact footprint, lower weight, and the ability to function along the pump curve as system conditions change. Sundyne Pumps also utilize state-of-the-art inducers for low NPSH (Net Positive Suction Head) situations.
Sundyne Centrifugal Pump Types
- Sealed Pumps
Sundyne uses the latest proven sealing technology in all our sealed pump products. Where applicable, certified API kits are also available.
- Sealless Pumps
Sundyne has one the largest product offerings of sealless pump types in the world today. Look to Sundyne when leaks simply cannot be tolerated.
- API (American Petroleum Institute) Pumps
For over four decades, Sundyne's high-head, low-flow API pumps have filled a critical niche in the petroleum refining industry. We continue that leadership today with our super safe sealless line of API-685 compliant pumps.
