Spain Michael Church Named General Manager of Sundyne Spain

ARVADA, Colo., February  16, 2010 – Sundyne Corp., a Hamilton Sundstrand business, today announced the appointment of Michael Church as general manager of the Sundyne facility in Illescas, Toledo, Spain. Hamilton Sundstrand is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Church is responsible for leading the local business team to expand Sundyne centrifugal multi-stage pump products developed and manufactured in Spain into new global markets. Church will use his extensive leadership experience to emphasize sales and the total implementation of a new business culture in quality, environmental health and safety, engineering, product development and manufacturing.

The Sundyne Spain facility, was purchased by Hamilton Sundstrand in 2008.  The facility was an independent company named Marelli Bombas before its integration with Sundyne. Centrifugal multi-stage pumps are developed and produced in the facility for the global oil, petrochemical, chemical, power generation, industrial process water, and municipal water markets.

“We are pleased that Michael Church has joined the Sundyne leadership team with his extensive global experience in business management,” stated Phil Ruffner, the president of Sundyne.

Church has extensive leadership experience in global product manufacturing and distribution organizations including automotive parts manufacturing, and high technology products. He earned undergraduate and advanced degrees in industrial engineering, industrial robotics, product automation, and business management.  

“Under Church’s leadership, we will leverage the extensive Sundyne global sales network to grow the footprint of the centrifugal multi-stage pumps produced in our Illescas, Spain facility”, said Ruffner.

Through its global sales channel Sundyne manufactures and distributes a family of products including heavy duty ISO 13709/API 610 integrally geared pumps; direct drive and multi-stage pumps; sealless magnetic drive pumps including API 685 and ANSI and ISO standards; high-speed multi-stage compressors for hydrocarbon and chemical processing, power generation, water management, and general industries. Sundyne also manufactures motors, stators and generators for aerospace, aircraft, refrigeration, hybrid bus and hybrid truck industries.
