ARVADA, Colo., February  17, 2010 – Sundyne Corp., a Hamilton Sundstrand business, today announced that 100% of the employees at headquarters have completed the Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) Super Days training program in Arvada, Colorado. Hamilton Sundstrand is a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

There are over 330 employees who completed the extensive 2 day training course over the past 12 months. The final team of employees completed the training last week during the annual sales meeting. The area sales managers who live around the United States, Canada, and South America successfully completed the ACE Super Days training during their annual visit to headquarters. The sales team was the final group to be trained in the year long program.

“Cameron  Freiboth, the Sundyne quality/ACE manager led the initiative that resulted in the success of the Super Days training program,” stated Jeff Wiemelt, vice president and general manager of Sundyne. “The ACE program is extremely important to our customers who experience the benefits of high-quality standards through on-time delivery, high product reliability, increased customer service, and continuous business improvement” also said Wiemelt.

The Sundyne management team  brought a corporate ACE team member to Arvada to train Megan Lewis  on conducting the course and she became a certified ACE instructor. Over the course of the training Lewis developed extensive knowledge of the ACE tools developed for continuous process improvement. Lewis along with other ACE team members then took on  the goal of providing the training to the rest of Sundyne Arvada in one year.

“It is cost-effective and very efficient to bring the training to the employees instead of sending them out-of-state to complete the course,” said Wiemelt. “We were successful in training all of our headquarters employees quickly because we invested in developing a certified ACE instructor with a quality focused team to drive the training and certification process,” also stated Wiemelt.

The Sundyne goal for the ACE training team is to complete 100% ACE Associate Certification for every employee over the next year. By increasing the use of ACE tools and culture in the business Sundyne plans to exceed the current Silver rating to reach ACE Gold certification, the highest rating for a UTC company.  Currently, 20% of the Sundyne Arvada team has completed their ACE Associate Certification.

Through its global sales channel Sundyne manufactures and distributes a family of products including heavy duty ISO 13709/API 610 integrally geared pumps; direct drive and multi-stage pumps; sealless magnetic drive pumps including API 685 and ANSI and ISO standards; high-speed multi-stage compressors for hydrocarbon and chemical processing, power generation, water management, and general industries. Sundyne also manufactures motors, stators and generators for aerospace, aircraft, refrigeration, hybrid bus and hybrid truck industries.
